(Boston, MA) November 23, 2009 – ConnectEDU, (www.connectedu.net) the Web-based leader in empowering students to manage their education and launch their career, today announced that 21 new colleges have signed on as SuperAPP partners since the solution was launched just four weeks ago. Additionally, SuperAPP was a key component of “College Application Week” in Detroit (October 26-29) where over 4,000 college applications were completed by seniors at 28 Detroit Public High Schools in just three days.

SuperAPP is a comprehensive electronic application management solution that facilitates the entire application process, including official transcripts, letters of recommendation, college essays, high school profile and the application from a single, secure location. An application management solution, as opposed to an application format, SuperAPP uses and supports all of the most popular application formats including: Common Application, Universal Application, and unique applications for over 1,100 colleges nationwide. SuperAPP streamlines the application process for students and high school counselors by providing students with a single interview to easily complete multiple custom college applications, and providing high school counselors with a single location to track, monitor and ensure the submission and receipt of all application materials. SuperAPP streamlines the application process for college admission officers by delivering a full electronic student application to the colleges in a single integrated data feed and in the preferred format.

And, ConnectEDU has done this in a way that dramatically improves the ease for a student to apply to multiple colleges from a single web form,” said Michael Barron, Assistant Provost for Enrollment Services and Director of Admission, University of Iowa.

The 21 new SuperAPP partners receive all of their application data electronically, and in the preferred format, as they take advantage of the cost savings associated with receiving these applications electronically. These colleges represent a wide geographic base of small, mid-sized and large schools and some of the country’s foremost institutions of higher learning. The new schools using ConnectEDU’s SuperAPP application management solution to streamline the college admissions process include: University of Iowa, Michigan State University, University of Maryland, Stevenson University, Grand Valley State University, and Mount St. Mary’s College. For a complete listing of SuperAPP partners, visit our college network.

"Today, I filled out and completed five college applications in less than forty-five minutes and it was a breeze,” said Marcea, a senior at Detroit’s Pershing High School. “I think SuperAPP is a much easier way to apply than other online methods. You can understand the process and you simply fill in one form and send applications to as many colleges as you want."

Latest Initiative to Enable Students to Send, Manage and Track All Admission Documents Electronically From Industry’s First and Only Complete, Paperless Application Package

(Baltimore, MD) September 24, 2009 –
ConnectEDU, (www.connectedu.net) the Web-based leader in empowering students to manage their education and launch their career, today announced from the National Association for College Admission Counseling Conference (NACAC) that it has acquired CollegeZapps, a leader in college application processing. This latest strategic initiative builds on the company’s acquisition of PrepHQ in July 2008 and combines ConnectEDU’s expertise in electronic document exchange of transcripts and letters of recommendation with CollegeZapps’ electronic application processing capabilities to further enhance SuperAPP™ and establish the industry’s first and only complete, paperless application package for students, parents, high schools and colleges. ConnectEDU will be showcasing the SuperAPP solution in Booth #925.

SuperAPP is ConnectEDU’s comprehensive college application solution that facilitates the organization and transmission of all college application materials, including official transcripts, letters of recommendation, college essays, high school profiles and the application from one, secure location. It streamlines the application process for students, high school counselors and college admission officers by providing students with a single interview to easily complete over 1,100 custom college applications, delivering a full electronic student application to colleges in a single integrated data feed, and providing high school counselors with a single location to track, monitor and ensure the submission and receipt of all application materials.

“As the need to improve access to higher education continues to escalate, we are continuing with our efforts to ensure college admissions is simplified for all students by providing them with the most reliable, accurate, and comprehensive way to achieve a successful education and career,” said Craig Powell, President and CEO, ConnectEDU. “Our acquisition of CollegeZapps and the enhancement it enables for our SuperAPP solution was a natural next step to ensure long term success and benefits for students, parents, guidance counselors and colleges. We look forward to continuing our goal to further streamline the application process and placing the focus on eliminating hurdles for students while opening up the doors to their future.”

The integration of CollegeZapps into SuperAPP creates an improved SuperAPP solution, reducing redundancy, saving time and money for everyone involved. SuperAPP provides a single platform from which students can submit, view and edit their applications to over 1,100 colleges as well as track their progress. Additionally, counselors and colleges are able to verify the receipt of all application documents through one, secure location.

“As a school counselor, gaining visibility into a student’s application process has always been a difficult, if not impossible, task,” said Dean Richburg, Educational Specialist for College Readiness and Access, Baltimore City Public Schools. “SuperAPP solves that critical pain point for counselors, empowering them with a comprehensive tool that allows all application materials to be tracked and managed from one secure dashboard.”

"CollegeZapps has long been focused on minimizing the inefficiencies in the college application process. Michigan Increases Focus on College Access Through Use of ConnectEDU’s Innovative Technology

40% of College Bound Seniors and 14 out of 15 Public Universities Utilize ConnectEDU web solutions to Streamline College and Career Process, Make More Informed Decisions

(Boston, MA) March 31, 2009 – ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net) the Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers through the nation’s largest college and career planning network, is now providing college access to 40% of the college bound seniors in the state of Michigan and is integrated with 14 of the 15 public universities in Michigan. Reaching these key milestones in March 2009, the network in Michigan expanded to include 245 high schools and 22 colleges/universities partnering with ConnectEDU to further bridge the gap between secondary education and higher education. In the last 60 days, ConnectEDU has welcomed four more public universities onto the company’s award winning technology network – Connect! - including Grand Valley State University, Lake Superior State University, Saginaw Valley State University and Western Michigan University.

Reports Kalamazoo Central High School Counselor Joyce Ryskamp, "We finished our first year of college applications working with ConnectEDU, and I must say Connect! was a huge success! Documents were transmitted more quickly and received with more accuracy than in past years. There were far fewer confused parents and students so the peace of mind factor was a big plus.” Kalamazoo Central High School is one of the top performing schools in the network joined by high schools in other districts including Midland, Farmington and Detroit.

Currently, 136,442 students and 701 school counselors in Michigan have been provided with Connect!, resulting in collaboration amongst students, parents and counselors around individual students' college and career plans. In addition to individually helping students map their curriculum to careers, families search for best-fitting colleges, and counselors manage and track the application process, Connect! allows for the delivery of official electronic transcripts from the high school to the college with the push of a button at no cost. This added capability is saving high schools tens of thousands of dollars in traditional processing and delivery costs. About The CODiE Awards
The CODiE Awards, originally called the Excellence in Software Awards, were established in 1986 by the Software Publishers Association (SPA), now the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), so that pioneers of the then-nascent software industry could evaluate and honor each other’s work.

Since then, the CODiE Awards program has carried out the same purpose – to showcase the software and information industry’s finest products and services and to honor excellence in corporate achievement and philanthropic efforts.

The CODiE Awards hold the distinction of being the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program, which provides member companies with a unique opportunity to earn praise from their competitors. Now in its twenty-fourth year, the CODiE Awards program has raised the standard for excellence and serves as prestigious representation of outstanding achievement and vision in the software and information industry.

“Our data clearly demonstrates the growing trend that students are including more cost-effective options such as public universities and community colleges in their higher education planning,” said Craig Powell, president and CEO, ConnectEDU. “This economy is creating a lot of uncertainty for families with regards to the college planning process. We are easing this burden on our families by providing the college planning and financial aid resources for them to start the process earlier and examine all of the available college options from public to private and two-year to four-year colleges.”

ConnectEDU to Provide Families with Expert Advice on Financial Aid Process

Financial Planning Tools, Webinars and Workshops Help Families Better Address
One of Today’s Top College Admissions Priorities

(Boston, MA) January 21, 2009 – ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net), the Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers through the nation’s largest college and career planning network, is assisting thousands of families in the ConnectEDU National Network™ in understanding the complexities of the college financial aid process. ConnectEDU’s robust financial planning tools, coupled with collaborative partnership programs including webinars and regional workshops, will provide the more than one million users in the network with access to the information, tools and resources they need to make more informed decisions to effectively navigate the financial aid process.

“In this current economy, state lenders and other funding agencies are closing their doors, college aid award packages are diminishing, more students are fighting for fewer award dollars, and the cost of a college education is at an all-time high. As a result, families are desperate for more knowledge and expert advice on the financial aid process,” said ConnectEDU President and CEO, Craig Powell. “ConnectEDU has the expertise, experience, and proven partners needed to provide a comprehensive offering of tools and programs to help families better understand their options and make the decisions that are right for them.”

ConnectEDU’s web tools provide users with a deeper understanding of the key components of the college financial aid process including how to: 1) fill out forms including the FAFSA, 2) determine a family’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC), 3) utilize comparison tools to examine two financial aid award packages from two institutions side by side, and 4) find sources of aid including local scholarships as well as federal and private loans. In addition to the comparison tools and EFC calculation, ConnectEDU also provides a budget plan tool that offers indebtedness scenarios for families to examine based on career choices after the completion of a postsecondary degree.

Earlier this month, ConnectEDU hosted its first webinar of 2009 titled “How to Complete Financial Aid Forms.” Nearly 1,000 families registered, indicating a growing need for college financial aid resources for students and their parents. For more information on ConnectEDU’s web tools, webinars, or workshops call 888-748-8188 or visit www.connectedu.net.

Electronic Transcript Exchange Grows 300% in Less Than a Year

High Schools in the ConnectEDU National Network™ Save Thousands in Cost & Efficiency

(Boston, MA) January 8, 2009 – ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net), the Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers through the nation’s largest college and career planning network, is reporting an increase of 300% in electronic transcript requests. With only half the admission cycle completed, the rapid proliferation of electronic transcript exchange coincides with the education budget crisis affecting schools across the nation. As a cost-cutting solution now expanded into 46 states, ConnectEDU’s technology is helping schools save up to $10,000 in one admission cycle by adopting electronic transcript exchange.

“During these tumultuous economic times for both state budgets and individual high school budgets, we expect to see even more growth in electronic document exchange as high schools continue to realize the time and more importantly costs-savings involved with using technology to cut out the unnecessary waste in their administrative processes,” said Craig Powell, ConnectEDU President and Chief Executive Officer. “In Michigan alone, we saw our active high schools double and triple their transcript volume in just one year. With budgets shrinking, school districts are being forced to rethink their operations. The ‘business as usual’ mantra will no longer carry weight in the K-12 space. Maximizing efficiency and doing more with less will be the key this year and for the foreseeable future.”

The 2008 growth of the ConnectEDU National Network includes an additional 1,300 high schools and 200 colleges positioned to cut costs by using electronic transcripts. The network currently represents 10% of the high school market, at 2,000 schools, and 15% of the college bound student population. With nearly 200,000 college-bound students utilizing ConnectEDU’s web-based tools in just the last twelve months, and an additional half-million students being added to the network beginning this quarter, the electronic transcript totals are expected to increase substantially in 2009.

ConnectEDU’s web-based tools allow counselors, students and parents to more effectively and efficiently collaborate on the college planning process, track student progress, learn more about financial aid, and cost-effectively send electronic admissions documents.
