PESC Board Appointment and New CTO Part of Continuing Effort to Break Down Barriers for Students and Families, Streamline Student Data Exchange
(Boston, MA) April 30, 2009 – ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net) the Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers through the nation’s largest college and career planning network, today announced two strategic appointments that will further help the company advance its goal of providing students and families with the technology resources they require to make more informed decisions about their college and career choices. Jeff Alderson, ConnectEDU’s Director of Product Management, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council(PESC), a non-profit, community-based, umbrella association of colleges and universities; professional and commercial organizations; data, software and service providers; non-profit organizations and associations; and state and federal government agencies that leads the establishment and implementation of student data exchange standards. Additionally, the company hired Rick Blaisdell as Chief Technology Officer. In his role, Mr. Blaisdell will be responsible for overseeing ConnectEDU’s ongoing effort to streamline student data exchange among all constituents involved in the student lifecycle.
With the recent appointment to the PESC Board of Directors, ConnectEDU will be part of the largest and most influential data standard-settings body in the industry. As part of the company’s role on the PESC Board, ConnectEDU will contribute to promoting the PESC mission along with all programs and services and advocating for efficiency and cost-effectiveness in all student data exchange.

Mr. Blaisdell brings more than 20 years of product, business development and high tech experience to ConnectEDU. Prior to joining ConnectEDU, Blaisdell was the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of mailmethods™, an industry leader in transactional email marketing where he managed the company’s technology and development organizations. Blaisdell was the Co-Founder of SilverCloud Software, a division of Retrieve Technologies. At SilverCloud Software, he ran technology and business development and led the company to become the fastest-growing Knowledge Management company in the financial industry.
