ConnectEDU Celebrates 7 Years of Helping Students and Families Make More Informed College and Career Decisions

(Boston, MA) April 24, 2009 – ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net) is turning seven years old today. The Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers has become the nation’s largest college and career planning network in only seven years. Founded in 2002 in Providence, Rhode Island, by President and CEO, Craig Powell, the roots of ConnectEDU grew out of Powell’s own experience of the inefficiencies and fallacies during his own education and career transition. Today, ConnectEDU provides its web solutions to over one million students, parents, counselors and admissions officers in 46 out of the 50 states nationwide.

“We started ConnectEDU because the broken college admission process does not work for the students, families and counselors that it was designed to serve,” said Powell. “The great team that we have here today at ConnectEDU, will continue to develop and apply solutions that ensure students and their families are provided with all the resources and opportunities necessary to make one of the most important decisions in their life.”

ConnectEDU has reached several milestones over the last 12 months surpassing 2000 high schools and 300 colleges in the ConnectEDU National Network™. Recently, ConnectEDU’s Connect! became a 2009 CODiE finalist in two categories including Best Education Solution. This prestigious honor is awarded by the Software and Information Industry Association.
