ConnectEDU Partners With MEFA to Develop College and Career Planning Web Portal

Provides Students in Massachusetts with the Necessary Resources to Plan for and Realize College and Career Goals

May 14, 2009- ConnectEDU, Inc., (www.connectedu.net) the Web-based leader in using data to connect students with colleges and employers through the nation’s largest college and career planning network, has partnered with MEFA (the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority), the non-profit self-financing state authority that works to make higher education more accessible and affordable for students and families in Massachusetts, to deliver students with college and career planning assistance to make more informed decisions about their future.

The Massachusetts College and Career Planning Web Portal will build upon the ConnectEDU National Network™, while providing students and families with a comprehensive solution to manage the complex college preparation and admissions process. The partnership also provides high school counselors with the tools they need to meet the specific requirements of the Massachusetts Counseling Model, while better managing administrative tasks.

“MEFA is committed to increasing access to higher education, and undertook a comprehensive search for a partner to help us deliver robust college and career planning tools and resources,” said Thomas Graf, Executive Director, MEFA. “We are excited to be working with another local, Massachusetts company, to ensure that high school students here in Massachusetts are better prepared for and more aware of the opportunities available to them.”

The Massachusetts College and Career Planning Web Portal will give parents transparency into the entire process, allowing them to gain visibility into the two-way interactions between their children and school counselors. “We are pleased to work with a mission-oriented organization such as MEFA to help further the opportunities of students by providing them with the access and resources they need to pursue higher educational and career opportunities that are a best fit for them,” said ConnectEDU President and CEO, Craig Powell. “Our collective efforts will bring together all of the tools and key players - including colleges, students, counselors and parents - to help put the focus and priority on the students and their life goals.”

The ConnectEDU National Network includes more than 2,000 high schools and 300 universities from 46 of the 50 U.S. states. For more information on ConnectEDU or MEFA call 888-748-8188 or visit connectedu.net or mefa.org.
